Side light emission refers to the visible light displayed by the fiber optic in a lineal fashion, be it "neon" simulation. (I.e. perimeter lighting). Because it is non-electric and emits no heat its safety attributes cannot be understated. (I.e. illuminating bodies of water) Optic-Light's side light cables operate on a closed loop system (both ends of the side light cable must be in the illuminator). Maximum cable lengths should not exceed 200'
